About this course

Master Customer Service, Customer Support, And Customer Experience

A customer writes in angry. Not politely disappointed — angry, in capitals, about something that is partly your fault and partly not. What you type in the next five minutes decides whether they leave, stay, or tell three other people how well you handled it. In this course you learn how to handle that message, and the hundred quieter ones around it, in a way that builds a business instead of just closing tickets.

Customer service is usually treated as a cost to be minimised. That is the mistake this course corrects. Support is where trust is actually earned, and it shows up in numbers: repeat purchases, referrals, and the reviews people write without being asked.

Why support decides whether customers come back

Most unhappy customers never complain. They simply stop buying, and you never learn why. The ones who do complain are handing you information, and a short, careless reply throws it away — then converts a fixable problem into a public review that costs you customers you will never meet. Meanwhile a support team without boundaries, without wording that works and without a knowledge base answers the same question forty times a week and gets slower exactly when volume grows.

The businesses that get this right are not the ones with the biggest support budgets. They have a mindset, a set of phrases that land well, clear limits on what support will and will not do, and the habit of turning routine contact into something a customer remembers. All of that is learnable.

What you learn in this course

Ten sections take you from the mindset you bring to the first line of a reply, through complaints and angry customers, into the language that changes how a message lands, and out to the wider customer experience: delight, proactive support, feedback and the tools that hold it together.

Across the course you learn to:

  • Open a customer interaction well, manage expectations, and stop overpromising to buy short-term goodwill
  • Work through the anatomy of a complaint, recognise the seven types of customer complaint, and answer each of them differently
  • Handle angry customers and angry emails without matching their temperature or caving on what you genuinely cannot do
  • Set support boundaries, calculate how much support is actually profitable, and part with a client cleanly when you have to
  • Say no in a positive way, replace the words that quietly antagonise people, and rewrite canned phrases so they sound like a person wrote them
  • Listen actively over email and on calls, using the cycle of effective listening and acknowledging, and read the non-verbal signals in a live conversation
  • Apply cognitive and emotional empathy on purpose, and keep your own emotions steady when a customer is not keeping theirs
  • Design the small extra touches that delight customers, and study how competitors do it
  • Build and maintain a support knowledge base, use templates and agents in Zoho Desk, and avoid the pitfalls of automating support too far
  • Collect real feedback with well-built forms and follow-up emails, and monitor what people say about you through reviews, hashtags and Google Alerts

The course also connects support to how a business learns. Steve Blank’s customer development work and Eric Ries’s Lean Startup give you a way to treat every support conversation as information about the product, not just a problem to close.

How the course works

Around eighty short video lessons across ten sections, all online in the Soofos learning environment, at your own pace. Your instructor is Alex Genadinik, who has taught business and communication skills online for more than a decade and works from real material: actual emails, actual phrasing, actual case studies.

No previous customer service experience is required. Where a technique has wording, you get the wording, so you can use it in the very next message you send.

Who is this course for?

  • Customer service and support professionals at any level
  • Entrepreneurs and small business owners who still handle their own support
  • Managers responsible for satisfaction, retention, or a support team
  • Sales and account teams whose customers keep coming back to them directly
  • Anyone moving into a customer-facing role who wants to start well rather than learn the hard way

It applies equally to a one-person online business and to an established organisation with a full support desk. The scale changes; the conversations do not.
